In 1992, after noticing exercise equipment at a friends house being used as coat hangers and dust collectors, Dick Enrico came up with the idea of buying
used exercise equipment and giving it a second chance. That was the idea and humble beginning of 2nd Wind Exercise Equipment.
During the first three years, 100% of 2nd Wind's inventory was previously owned equipment. At the time the fitness industry considered him an "embarrassment" or a "scratch and dent" retailer who was going nowhere. After 1995 things improved for second wind exercise equipment. Today, 2nd Wind exercise equipment is 97% new with the balance representing high quality, previously owned gear. Currently the company is the upper Midwest of America's exclusive dealer of the industry's finest lines which include Life Fitness, Para-Body, True, Hoist, Pace-Master, Vision, Trimline, Stairmaster, Octane, and a host of others. Now with 57 retail stores and an "award winning"
commercial division, 2nd Wind has become one of the most successful and respected fitness dealers in America.
